About Seizing Life
Seizing Life, a CURE podcast, aims to inspire empathy, offer helpful stories, and give hope as we search for a cure for epilepsy.
Seizing Life is a weekly podcast and videocast produced by Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy (CURE). We speak with guests who share stories and insights on living with and battling epilepsy.
Each week host Kelly Cervantes, CURE Board Member and epilepsy advocate, explores the real-life experiences of those with epilepsy, their loved ones, and the medical professionals combating this condition.

Seizing Life is a call-to-arms to every patient, parent, and doctor who has seen the devastating effects of epilepsy and wondered why we do not yet have a cure.
CURE, Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy, is the leading nongovernmental agency fully committed to funding research in epilepsy. Our mission is to find a cure for epilepsy, by promoting and funding patient-focused research.
CURE was founded as a grassroots movement in 1998 by Susan Axelrod and a small group of parents whose children were living with epilepsy. Frustrated with their inability to protect their children from seizures and the side effects of medications, these parents acted.
Since then, CURE has raised more than $60 million to fund epilepsy research and other initiatives that will lead the way to cures for the epilepsies. CURE awards grants for novel research projects to advance the search for a cure, eliminate treatment side effects, reverse deficits caused by frequent seizures, and prevent epilepsy related to post-traumatic epilepsy.
